Feel like you want a CSA but unsure if you can make it to either of our markets?  We want everyone to have access to our delicious produce.  So, if you can get 10 people to sign up for CSA shares (whole or half) in your immediate area, we will make a delivery to your area.  If this is something you are interested in please notify us so we can plan accordingly.

Winter at Sanborn Mills Farm

Now that the season is winding down, we introduced some sheep to the farm!  Their breed is “Dorper,” which is a cross between “Dorset” and “Persian” sheep.  Their coat is a hair/wool mix which sheds on its own.  No shearing!  Pictured are our 5 ewe lambs that will serve as our starter flock.  Starting in March these sheep will be lambing and producing meat that will be available for purchase.  Soon we will be introducing a Katahdin ram.  We feed them our own high quality hay and look forward to growing grains for them next year.  During the cold months it is fun and nutritious to feed sugar pumpkins, cabbage, broccoli and kale.

We are also in the process of building 2 small high tunnels (unheated green houses) which will help us bring you year-round fresh vegetables!  In the summer they will aid us with growing our heat-loving vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants.  In the fall, winter, and spring  the high tunnels will serve as a place for cold hardy vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, and micro-greens to grow.
